Kayaking / Canoeing - Self Guided One Day Canoe or Kayak - ONEnjoy a morning or an afternoon paddling down the lazy Saugeen River with your friends. This is our most popular trip with people often choosing to paddle an easy four hours ending at Denny's Dam in Southampton. Pack your own lunch and catch the 8am, 10am, noon or 2 pm shuttle van leaving Denny's Dam. With your rental canoe or kayak on board, our shuttle drivers will transport you and your equipment upstream to a predetermined put in, based on the number of hours you would like to paddle. When you arrive back at your destination your car is waiting for you. At that point you lock up your boat and return paddles, pfd's and throw bags to our Southampton Thorncrest Outfitters Location and notify them that you are back.

A smaller river with steeper gradient, the section of the Ammonoosuc we run sports a turny, gravely, rock strewn character with steady current and several small sections of class I/II rifts. The scenery is fantastic. There are open fields with classic New England farms, rock cliffs, and two historical covered bridges. One of these bridges is the nations oldest and the other is the longest. If fishing is your thing you will enjoy this trip. Brook, brown, and rainbow trout are the main species encountered.
