Emptying a Whitewater Kayak
Whitewater kayak empty Emptying a swamped whitewater kayak is slightly different from emptying a swamped sea kayak because the boats are much smaller and more manageable, and because the shore is often much closer. Still, a little technique can make a big difference. Ken Whiting looks at the proper way to empty a whitewater kayak after taking a swim.

In The Same Boat
Is there a canoeist, kayaker, or sailor anywhere who hasn't spoken feelingly of his delight in "messing about in boats"? Probably not. But how many of us know where this happy turn of phrase comes from? Well, if you don't — and maybe even if you do — you'll want to read Farwell's latest for In the Same Boat, as he continues to potter about in paddlesport's literary backwaters. So be sure to check out "Nothing Half So Much Worth Doing."

Kayak Photo Product Review Spotlight
Grand Slam Angler Kayak by Emotion Kayaks
When getting into kayak fishing researching for a suitable kayak for bay fishing, this one checked everything off on the list. This kayak tracks very well, no need for a rudder but I'm sure one wouldn't hurt. It's a dry ride; I'm 6' 180# and sit high and dry loaded with live shrimp and fishing gear. This boat is also stable enough for me to cast... All in all, fantastic boat, would buy again for bay fishing... Rating 9 of 10 by Mattias
