This is a great design: too bad its not available in (3 layer) Gore tex.
I used these pants in a 3 month S.E. Alaska kayak trip, had immediate and continuing problems with severe wetness. Leak testing confirmed my suspicions, Tropos is watertight... for a while. I have suspicions about gradual internal condensation as the result of contact with wet surfaces. Wearing neoprene booties full of water? After a three hour paddle (much less a 12 hour paddle) your socks and pants will be soaked. Very uncomfortable (and dangerous) in intense/wet/Cold places like Alaska.

Tried this out on a spring morning paddle in a SOT. The pants kept me dry and happy on the water - very comfortable, non-restrictive. I wore neoprene socks over the pant socks with boots. The gravel guards are a nice feature that wading fishermen will appreciate. Remember to layer.
