look at the specs and it's no surprise. a fast touring sea kayak. a great compromise (if someone writes that a boat has great primary AND secondary stability they are either lying or don't understand the concept) between primary and secondary stability. basically it's a nearly linear stability curve for this boat. the HV is an extra inch in the deck for bigger/longer legs and therefore gear stowage. outfitting is very good and the integral thigh braces in the coaming are perfectly placed for my long legs but i can release them and move my legs around for comfort. the outfitting for performance is great, safety even better. the quality control is excellent on Seaward kayaks. one of the finest boats for long touring out there. if you want to turn on a dime and play in the surf this may not be the best boat. but for virtually all water conditions and making headway against wind and waves this boat is the ticket. especially for big paddlers.
