This was my first kayak, purchased new one year ago. I've been down the Texas Guadalupe numerous times, it tracks well and is easy to turn. I added some tie-down points and took it on the Buffalo River in Arkansas and it was loaded with me & gear & food for 5 days. It was maxed out on load capacity (295/300) but it did great!

I needed a small kayak for storage and at a low price and the Alpha fitted the bill. It tracks really well for a small kayak and is a joy to paddle. With regard to stability it is very good and even the antics of a couple of powerboats with their big washes did not give any problems. The only negative is the seat is molded without any cushions and become a bit hard after a couple of hours. This was rectified by some foam sponge. All in all a very good little kayak.
