Very pleased with my 12.0 Xplorer. Unexperienced and out of safe harbor my Xplorer withstood rough conditions while my friends filled with water. It moves fast once you get paddling at a steady, consistent speed. Does not turn precisely. Tons of storage space for overnight camping accessories. Footpegs should be able to move further to the front. Little tight for me due to long legs. Great overall product.

The kayak that appears specially made for Galyans stores is absolutely superb. My wife tried for the first time and fell in love with it. I am now looking for a second one just like it. The tray at the front of the cockpit is an outstanding place to mount a Suunto compass. You can roll it over without damaging or scraping off the compass and can leave it mounted permanently. It paddles easily, tracks well, easily out runs snakes trying to hitch a ride, and is a great platform for flyfishing. It takes waves well and virtually unsinkable with the bulkhead at the rear. The only minus is that is tracks too well and requires some skill with the paddle to turn sharply once underway. Overall, it seems to do everything well.

Yes, The Xplorer 12 is a great little boat! The boat is 12ft 4in long , about 29in wide ,tracks real well . Not the fastest, but very stable . has a nice big cockpit about 18 x 40 with a nice tray , easy in easy out. Good storage in the rear, with bulkhead & bungies on the front deck and 400 lb capacity Great for the beginner , Or the fisherman. All & all the Galyan's Xplorer 12 for 369.00 is one of the best buys on the market today .. I bought a " 2 " one for me & the bride . We both think there Great !!

Very stable boat. Does well in a straight line, but is a little slow when you try to turn at speed. Lot's of room with the storage hatch and deck rigging. If it turned slightly better when you were moving, it would be a 10!
