My Willow is kevlar; it is a light canoe and can be difficult to paddle solo in a strong wind. I have used it quite a bit for camping and hunting, so it almost always has some gear in it. This added weight makes it handle a bit better in the wind. Tracks well, easy to carry.

Purchased 2nd hand, this asymetrical hull tripping canoe is a joy when weighted down with two adults and is also a joy when weighted down with two adults, two kids and six packs in the middle. However, it is useless for solo travel, and is a chore to keep on track when unweighted in the wind.
