Submitted: 12-16-1999 by catch Great canoe for fly fishing, especially in the coastal marshes. Many scrapes on the bottom from oyster reefs, but it holds up well (and takes collisions well too!). For every negative on the Guide, there's a reason. First, the weight. Heavy at 75 lbs, but built like a tank, and NO flexing. Second, the yoke in the middle should be a 3rd seat since capacity is 800 lbs. Again, installing a seat is no big deal. Third, it's no speed demon. That's the price you pay for having a wide beam so you can stand up and fish (or even push pole). A trolling motor is nice to have. All in all, a very good shallow water fishing workhorse at a very reasonable price. |
