Submitted: 09-06-2002 by wmg We purchased the Old Town Guide 147 for short river trips and small lakes. My wife is really unable to help me load on top of my full sized pickup because of the weight. We just haul in the back using a extended hitch carrier. The canoe is great for what we purchased it for. Would we like to have a lighter one? Sure, but for the price it serves the purpose... recommended.
