Just back from first time using my kid Old Town Vapor 10, bare bone. I have been using a 14' canoe for years and I am amazed how this kayak tracks. Expect moderate speed, but is a recreational kayak. The cockpit is huge, getting in and out was a breeze; we had some winds but the Vapor was easy to maneuver, turn, and paddle. Some water gets inside coming from the paddle, but if you are careful and/or use a 100.00 paddle (mine is a 30.00 paddle), the water inside can be minimum.
I like this kayak. I will add some goodies, a couple of rod holders, and a hatch cover. I would recommend this kayak to anyone who wants to experience or break in kayaking on a budget (299.99). Old Town Vapor 10 won't let you down. |
